What are guardian accounts? Follow
Any participant under 18 is required to list a guardian. This should be a parent or legal guardian as they will be required to sign documents for the trip. All guardians need to have an account, even if they are not going on a trip or the specific trip with their minor. Please note that if an Admin manually adds a minor to a trip they will NOT be able to add a guardian unless that guardian already has an account. If they do not have an account then they must create one, see our Support Document "Creating a New Account"
Guardians can be added by:
- Registering a minor and adding themselves as the guardian. (To learn about this process please read our Support Article on How To Register Your Student.)
- A minor over the age of 13 applying to a trip themselves and adding their guardian's contact information
- Someone else registering a minor and adds the guardian's contact information.
- An Administrator at the organization hosting the trip adds a guardian manually.
Registering a Minor as a Guardian or Group Leader
In our example below, the parent is registering the minors they are the guardian of. Even so, they will still be prompted to add a guardian for each minor they register. Group leaders can also register minors as long as they have guardian information.
Once you click "Resolve", there will be a list of the Adults also being registered that you can select from or you can select "None Of These Are The Guardian", which will be prompt you to enter the guardian information.
Please note, if a minor has an existing account it will include any previously listed guardians.
When adding the Guardian Information, the platform will require their name, email address, phone number, and gender. Click "Save Guardian Info" to continue with the application process.
Once the Guardian completes the application process, they will automatically see the minors on their "My Trips" dashboard.
Guardians who did not register the minor will automatically be sent an account creation email.
In our example, the minor applied to a trip and added their guardian. Please note that email is customizable by the sending organization, so the email copy might be different but will include a link to either create an account or view the trip.
Complete Guardian Account Creation
If the guardian did not previously have an account, they must click on the link sent to them in the automated account creation email. This will allow the Guardians to create their own account in order to finalize the registration for their minor.
Troubleshooting Note: If the automated account creation email was not received, direct the user to the login page [[tenant]].go.fullmethod.com/login and click the Forgot Password link. If they have not created an account before, they will be able to complete their profile.

Once logged in, Guardians will see their minor's information. Please, note in the upper right that you will want to have "Trips I'm Responsible For" selected.
Guardians are not automatically sent trip update emails, so if the minor has their own email address - their Guardian will want to log in to their account and check for updates often.
Exploring Guardian Options
Guardians have full access to the same dashboard as the minor. Please read our Support Article "Exploring Your Participant Dashboard" for more information.
When a Guardian clicks on a minor's name who has not yet been accepted on the trip, they will see exactly where they are in the application process.
To view the Trip Requirments due for the minor, click on "Checklists". In the example below, we are viewing this as the minor and you can see they are unable to sign a document because they are not of legal age.
When logged in as a Guardian, you will now be able to complete the Guardian Only Requirements.
