Donations - Pushpay Follow
Focus Missions integrates with Pushpay to process donations that happen in Focus Missions. Customers with a Pushpay account can authorize Focus to use Pushpay in order to process donations and refunds.
In Focus Missions, navigate to Admin < Settings < Software Integrations and choose "Pushpay". From there if you are new to Pushpay, you can click "Signup with Pushpay" in order to get more information about Pushpay as an online giving provider. If you are an existing Pushpay customer, you can click "Turn on Integration". This will open up a window directed to Pushpay for you to log in and authorize Focus Missions.
The window that is opened will be directed to Pushpay in order for you to log in with your Pushpay credentials. If you are already logged in with Pushpay, this step might be skipped as Pushpay will already reconize you as authenticated to Pushpay.
After a successful login into Pushpay, you will be presented with the authorization screen which will allow you to authorize Focus Missions to interact with your Pushpay data through Apis.
After authorizing by clicking the "Authorize" button in Pushpay, you will be redirected to Focus so you can choose the organization that you want to attach to Focus Missions. Select the organization and click Save. This will close the opened window and return you to your Pushpay settings inside Focus Missions.
You can turn off the integration between Pushpay and Focus at any time by navigating inside Focus Missions back to the Pushpay software integration in the settings.
After the set up is complete, the next step is to populate the necessary values for each trip. For each trip, the merchant listing, donation fund and participant fund will need to be provided. Go into each trip and edit the details of that trip to provide Pushpay options.
1. Merchant Listing: The merchant listing is what is used to create the preconfigured giving links to Pushpay. Only merchant listings tied to the organization selected on integration setup will be visible. If for some reason you do not see your merchant listing, we recommend turning off the integration and redoing it.
2. Donation Funding: Donations made to participants and mission trips will be attributed to this fund.
3. Participant Funding: Money paid by the actual participant will be attributed to this fund.
When managing funding for the participants on the trip, it is possible to refund a payment that was donated from Pushpay. The refund must be for the entire amount. Navigate to the participant that needs the refund, click on the transaction that needs to be refunded and then click "Issue a Refund"
Click the Issue a Refund button will open Pushpay directly to that payment. If you are not logged in already to Pushpay, you will be prompted to log in before continuing. On the transaction screen in Pushpay click the "Refund" button.
After refunding the transaction in Pushpay, the refund will make its way into Focus Missions. This process is not immediate and there could be up to a 10 minute delay in this information showing up in Focus Missions.
