Focus Missions integrates with Planning Center through a series of Apis creating a bi-directional sync with the thought that majority of the work would continue to happen in Focus Missions with that data being moved to Planning Center.
Focus Missions requires an admin of Planning Center to establish a connection between the two systems. In order to start the setup, navigate to Admin < Settings < Software Integrations and choose "Planning Center". Hit the button to "Turn on Integration" which will launch a new window from Planning Center and ask for your log in credentials and ask if you authorize Focus Missions to have data pertaining to People, Giving and Check Ins.
Selecting to turn on the integration will open a new window that is pointed to Planning Center that will ask for log in credentials for Planning Center.
The person that is logged in during this process will be identified as the person when batches, donation and people are created in Planning Center. It is recommended to create an admin in Planning Center to make it easier to track that Focus Missions did the action through the API.
After successful log in (or if you are already logged into Planning Center) you will be presented with an authorization request to give Focus Missions access to data in People, Check In and Giving. Click "Allow" to give Focus Missions to access data through Planning Center.
At this point Integration is complete. Focus Missions will show the person that is tied to the integration from Planning Center. It is possible to turn off the integration at any time.
When the integration is success, Focus Missions will create a Payment Source in Planning Center called "Focus Missions" that will be used for any donation that is made in Focus Missions.
For the Focus Missions payment source, we suggest that you disable the option 'Email donation receipts for Focus Missions donations' so that donors will not receive two donation emails.
After the set up is complete, the next step is to populate the necessary values for each trip.
1. Donation Funding: Donations made to participants and trips will be attributed to this fund
2. Participant Funding: Money paid by the actual participant will be attributed to this fund
When searching for individuals to add to a trip from an admin perspective, Focus Missions will search Planning Center for the person based on first name and last name. If the individual exists in Planning Center, the information about the individual is displayed to be selected.
Focus Missions will add people to Planning Center when they do not exist and will update person information when information about the person is updated in Focus Missions.
Planning Center currently cannot inform Focus Missions when changes to person information is changed in Planning Center.

Focus Missions does syncing of donation information to Planning Center. Any donation made in Focus Missions will be moved to Planning Center as a donation.
When a donation is made in Focus Missions, Focus Missions will first look in Planning Center for a Batch for the day in which the donation is being made. If there is not a batch from Focus Missions for the day, Focus Missions will create a batch in Planning Center, add the donation to that batch and then commit the batch. All subsequent donations for the day will be added to this batch.

If you use Pushpay as your online giving provider, then transactions will be recorded in Planning Center via Pushpay and not Focus Missions.
Pushpay writes a donation in Planning Center and one designation record as well.
If Pushpay is the payment merchant, you will no longer select the Planning Center options when creating a trip. Instead you will select the Pushpay Merchant and then the Fund that should be associated from Pushpay
