Activating your Next Steps Administrative Account
After completion of the Focus Next Steps registration process, the Administrator receives a welcome email from firstname.lastname@example.org. The automatically generated email contains a URL link similar to the example below, and provides the Administrator with immediate access to the Focus Next Steps system.

Note: The Administrator has one day (24 hours) to select the link provided within the welcome email to gain access to the Focus Next Steps system. Otherwise, the password will expire. Refer to the Requesting a New Password section below if you require a new password.
For easier access to the system, it is recommended that you bookmark the URL to your Favorites within your browser.
After selecting the link from the email you received from email@example.com, you will be asked to select a new password. Once you’ve selected your password you will be redirected to the CCB Integration screen. Follow the steps below to enter the API credentials that were set up in your ChMS.

Review the Church Code, Api Username and Api Password fields for accuracy. See below for instructions to create this API user inside your CCB account, and enter the username and password you create in that process here when you have finished all the steps.
Select the Verify button.
Setting Up the API User in CCB
Log in to your Community Church Builder account to configure your API services.
Select the gear in the top right corner.
From the dropdown menu choose API.
•Begin filling out these areas.
•We suggest "focusministry" to be used as the username.
•Make sure you write the username/password down so you can share it with Next Steps later
•Fill in the Primary Organization Contact Information
•Do NOT click save yet
•Now toggle to the Services view which is the tab next to User
- Put a check in the box by any applicable API Service that you need to give Missions access to, DO NOT click the "Select All" button here at the top
- Select only the following options:
- udf_ind_pulldown_X_list (where X is a number, we recommend selecting all the numbered user defined lists)
- Then click Save when done.
- After clicking save, CCB will give you your new credentials to plug into Next Steps
- Now log in to your Next Steps Account to enter the new information.
Note: Often the designated technical Administrator within your church will receive the initial password and API verification screen. Once the Administrator completes the setup process outlined above, they can begin adding new users to the system. The new users will perform the functions of creating templates and batches within Focus Next Steps. The Administrator should refer to the Adding New Users section for additional information.
