How do I turn on background checks? Follow
We integrate with Protect My Ministry to incorporate background checks into your missions process.
Add your Protect My Ministry Account
Administrators may add the Protect My Ministry integration by navigating to the Admin tab and selecting Settings.
Under Software Integrations, choose Background Checks.
You'll be prompted to enter your Protect My Ministry account credentials.
Once confirmed, you'll be ready to make your selections for your Background Check preferences inside your Missions portal.
In the missions platform, you'll have the ability to choose the type of background check you want to enable, how long you plan to let the background check remain valid, and how much you want the individual participant to contribute towards the cost of the background check.
You can choose to make this $0.00 and absorb the cost yourself; otherwise, this will appear as a fee for your participants.
Adding a Background Check to a Trip
Background checks are now an option under Trip Requirements, similar to References.
Under User Requirements, toggle to YES if you want to require a current background check for all of your participants.
Completing a Background Check from your Profile
From a participant's profile, they can access their Background Check status by selecting a Background Check from the left-side menu.
If a participant does not have a current background on file, they will see No background check on file.
A participant without a current background check on file may request a background check at any time, whether they are registering for a trip or not, by clicking the Get a Background Check button.
The participant will be prompted to enter their billing information to pay for the Background Check and submit their information.
Completing a Background Check from a Registration
Background Checks may be requested and paid for during the trip registration process if an applicant does not have a current background check on file.
Background checks now appear alongside the application questions.
The Background Check fee will be listed separately from the application fee or deposit.
Once payment has made for the total, the applicant will be invited to request their background check, or they may go straight to their trips and complete the background check later.
Completing a Background Check from a Trip
If an applicant chooses to complete their background check after the registration process, they will see a notification at the top of their account view to complete their background check.
Users can click the notification to go to the background check view.
Applicants may simply complete the background check form and submit to fulfill their requirement.
